This talk was given to the Kirstenbosch RoomToGrow Wednesday Talks on 18 August 2021 and can be heard by clicking here to the YouTube video.

Talk with questions is around one hour (please note that the special book prices quoted in the talk have now expired and the book prices are as given on the order form from my website).

This talk explores the strong correlation of plant biomes to bedrock geology and soils on the West Coast. The talk covers plant ecosystems along the coast and inland to the Cape Fold Belt mountains and considers their present-day distribution, as well as how they may have varied in the recent (pre-European) and deep, geological past.
